スマホ決済大手のPayPayとセブン＆アイ・ホールディングスは、利用者のIDを統合する方向で調整を進めています。実現すれば、会員数が延べ1億人を超える巨大なポイント経済圏となり、利用者の利便性の向上につなげられるかが課題となります。

通信大手のソフトバンクやPayPayなどは、全国におよそ2万2000店のコンビニエンスストアを展開するセブン＆アイ・ホールディングスに数千億円規模の出資を行うことを検討しています。

関係者によりますとPayPayとセブン＆アイは、現在、それぞれが展開する「PayPay ID」と「7iD」を統合する方向で調整を進めているということです。

IDの数は、PayPayが7400万人、セブン＆アイが3900万人で、統合が実現すれば、会員数が延べ1億人を超える巨大なポイント経済圏が誕生することになります。

両社は利用者のIDを統合することで、決済や購買に関するデータを活用し、市場の分析などがより詳しくできるようになるほか、利用者向けには、買い物の実績にあったクーポンの配布などを検討しているということです。

コンビニや通信各社などの間では異業種と連携し自社のポイント経済圏を拡大させる動きが相次いでいて、利用者の利便性の向上につなげられるかが課題となります。
