油井亀美也さん 宇宙で2回目の長期滞在へ 出身地 長野で壮行会
宇宙飛行士の油井亀美也さんが、早ければ7月にも国際宇宙ステーションで2回目の長期滞在を行うのを前に27日、出身地の長野県川上村で壮行会が開かれ、油井さんがビデオメッセージを寄せました。
油井亀美也さんは早ければ7月にも、アメリカの民間宇宙船「クルードラゴン」で国際宇宙ステーションに向かい、2015年以来、2回目の長期滞在に臨む計画です。
これを前に27日、出身地の川上村では、村の職員や地域の子どもたちなど、およそ320人が参加して壮行会が開かれました。
このなかでは、子どもたちが「ミッションの成功を応援しています」などとあいさつし、油井さんへの応援メッセージを収録した映像を披露しました。
これに対し、訓練のため出席できなかった油井さんからはビデオメッセージが寄せられました。
このなかで油井さんは「川上村は星空がきれいで小さいころから宇宙飛行士になりたいと思い、努力をして夢がかないました。今回の滞在ではたくさんの初めてのチャレンジが待っていますが、川上村はもちろん人類全体の未来が明るくなるようなミッションにしたいです」と決意を述べました。
また、壮行会には、油井さんの姉の関口夏美さんが出席し「弟は『川上村のことを思って頑張る』と話していました。みなさんの応援が弟の力になると思います」と感謝を述べていました。
壮行会に参加した女子児童は「川上出身の人が宇宙に行くなんてすごいと思います。私も宇宙飛行士になりたくなりました」と話していました。
川上村では「クルードラゴン」の打ち上げにあわせてパブリックビューイングを開催するなどして、ミッションの成功を応援することにしています。
