熊本市電の人気車両 22日で運転終了 最後の3日間は特別運行
およそ70年前に製造され、かつて福岡市内で路面電車として走ったこともある熊本市電の車両が、22日を最後に運転を終了することになり、最後の3日間、特別ダイヤで運行しています。
特別ダイヤでの運行が始まったのは、熊本市電の「5014号車」です。
1957年に製造され、かつては西鉄の旧福岡市内線で走っていたこともある2両編成の車両で、1978年に熊本市電に移ってきました。
老朽化のためいったんは引退したものの、2両編成で輸送力があることから、8年前から朝のラッシュ時に1往復限定で運行されていました。
しかし、車両の運行に必要な部品を手に入れることが難しくなり、運行を終えることになりました。
20日から22日までの最後の3日間は、朝だけでなく夜間にかけて主に田崎橋と健軍町の間を往復する特別ダイヤで運行しています。
車内には昔の写真が飾られ、沿線でもファンがカメラを向けていました。
乗車した熊本市の70代の男性は「福岡県に住んでいた高校時代に乗っていたのでとても懐かしい車両です。引退までにまた乗れたらいいなと思います」と話していました。
熊本市交通局は、22日に最後の運転を終えたあと、後日、「5014号車」の記念イベントの開催を検討しているということです。
