ロシアの国営メディアは13日、プーチン大統領が北方領土の択捉島を訪問したと伝えました。プーチン氏の北方領土訪問は初めてで、ウクライナ侵攻を続けるロシアに制裁を科す日本を強くけん制するねらいがあるとみられます。

ロシアの国営メディアは13日、プーチン大統領が北方領土の択捉島を訪問したと伝えました。

北方領土をめぐっては、2010年に当時大統領だったメドベージェフ氏が国家元首として初めて国後島を訪れましたが、プーチン氏が訪問したのは初めてです。

ロシアはウクライナ侵攻後の2022年3月、日本が欧米と歩調を合わせて経済制裁を強めたことに反発し、北方領土問題を含む平和条約交渉を中断する意向を示しました。

プーチン大統領は12日、ロシア太平洋艦隊の演習を視察した際、「ロシアが挑発していないにもかかわらず日本はウクライナでの出来事を口実にわれわれに制裁を科した」と述べて、日本を批判しました。

今回の訪問は、ウクライナ侵攻が長期化する中、制裁を続ける日本を強くけん制するねらいがあるとみられます。
