7月8日から、PayPay残高を三井住友銀行口座へ送金(払い出し)する際の手数料が、月5回まで無料となる。三井住友銀行および三井住友カードが発表した。三井住友銀行、三井住友カードは、ソフトバンクとの包括業務提携を通じて、キャッシュレス決済と金融サービスを組み合わせた新たな価値の提供に取り組んでいる。この中で、3月にVポイントとPayPayポイントの相互交換を開始しており、今回のPayPay残高の三井住友銀行口座への送金手数料無料化は、これに続く施策となる。送金可能なPayPay残高はPayPayマネー、PayPayマネー(給与)。送金可能金額は1円から。月5回まで無料で、6回目以降は100円。なお通常では、PayPay残高の銀行口座への送金は、PayPay銀行あては何度でも無料、その他の金融機関あては100円。なお、PayPayは三井住友カード“以外”のクレジットカードを紐づけた従来の利用を8月末までで終了。以降は、「他社カード利用券」という新たな仕組みを使って、1万円単位でチャージする仕組みに移行する。 PayPayカードを除くと、三井住友カードのみが、9月以降もPayPayと紐づけて、PayPayアプリ経由でのカード決済が利用可能となる。
