Amazon、クラウドゲーミング基盤「Amazon GameLift Streams」
Amazon Web Services(AWS)は、デバイスを問わず高品質・低遅延なゲーム体験を提供できると謳う、ゲーム開発者向けのクラウドゲーミング機能「Amazon GameLift Streams」を発表した。

ゲーム開発者はクラウドゲーミング機能の「Amazon GameLift Streams」を利用することで、各デバイス向けのゲーム配信のためにコードを修正したり、自社のゲーム配信インフラ構築に時間や社内リソースを費やしたりする必要がなくなる。需要に応じてストリーミング規模を増減でき、必要な分のキャパシティを確保して料金を支払う。
フルマネージド型GPUインスタンスへ素早くアップロードでき、大型タイトルからインディーゲームまで対応。PC、スマートフォン、スマートTVなどの、主要なWebブラウザを搭載するあらゆるデバイス向けに配信できる。配信開始から数秒で1080pの高解像度と60fpsのフレームレートを実現するほか、世界の6つのリージョンから低遅延で配信できる。
また、Amazon GameLift Streamsを活用してWebサイトや広告の配信、インフルエンサーによるライブストリーミング中に使えるインスタントプレイ用のリンクを提供でき、プレイヤー層の拡大を図れる。既存のゲームストアにプレイアブルデモを組み込み、購入したゲームをダウンロードする間に、クラウド上でデモ版をプレイする、といった活用も可能。発売前の社内テストにおいても、何度もダウンロードするといった作業が不要で、クラウド上でテストプレイが可能になる。
ゲームプレイヤーは、プレイ開始まで数分待ったり、ゲームのダウンロード完了まで何時間も待ったりすることなく、クラウド上で数秒のうちにゲームプレイを開始できるようになる。
国内外の企業がすでにAmazon GameLift Streamsを利用中。日本企業ではバンダイナムコエンターテインメントが導入済みで、ガンダムシリーズのファンが集うためのメタバース空間を、Amazon GameLift Streamsを活用して構築している。
