「MINI Concept Aceman」で、ミニはもっとデジタルでサステナブルに進化する
BMWの「ミニ」が、新たな電気自動車（EV）のコンセプトモデル「MINI Concept Aceman」を発表した。小型のクロスオーバータイプとしてミニ初のEVとなり、最新のインフォテインメントシステムを搭載するほか、クロムめっきやレザーを使わないサステナブルな仕様が特徴となる。

MINI Concept Acemanは、5ドアで5人乗りのクロスオーバータイプ。一般的な3ドアのミニと、SUVタイプの「MINI CROSSOVER」との間を埋めるモデルになる見通しだ。全長は4.05m、全高1.59mとコンパクトだが、全幅が1.99mと幅が広め。次世代のMINIファミリーに導入される新たなデザイン言語を採用しており、今後のMINIのデザインの方向性を示してもいる。
「このコンセプトカーは、MINIが完全電動化という未来に向けてどのように自己改革を進めているのかを象徴しています」と、MINIブランドの責任者であるシュテファニー・ヴルストは語る。「同時に電動でのゴーカート感覚や没入型のデジタル体験、最小限の環境負荷への強いこだわりとなど、ブランドが象徴するものを反映しているのです」
今回のコンセプトモデルでは、サステナブルであることが強調されている。クロムめっきやレザーを使わないほか、内装には再生された繊維を編み込んだ素材を採用した。
また、車内中央には丸い有機ELディスプレイやトグルスイッチなどが配置され、ミニらしさを演出している。インフォテインメントシステムなどのOSは、Android オープンソース プロジェクト（AOSP）がベースになるという。
フロントグリルは八角形となり、LEDでサインを表示できるようになっている。グリルはライトグリーンのLED照明で縁取られ、デイタイムランニングライトの役割も果たす。
MINI Concept Acemanはコンセプトモデルだが、このデザインの8割程度が量産モデルに引き継がれるという。量産モデルは2024年に発売される見通しだ。
