酒を飲んだあと電動キックボードを運転して事故を起こすケースが後を絶たないことから警視庁は都内で飲酒運転の検問と取り締まりを行いました。

警視庁によりますと、電動キックボードなど「特定小型電動機付自転車」を飲酒運転して起きた事故は去年、37件あり、ことしも8月までで24件に上っています。

検問では、繁華街で酒を飲んだあとに電動キックボードなどに乗っている人がいないか重点的に取り締まりが行われました。

警察官は電動キックボードや自転車に乗って通りかかった人を呼び止めると検知器を使ってアルコールの反応が出ないか確認していました。

25日夜の検問で電動キックボードを飲酒運転していた人はいませんでしたが、自転車に乗っていた男性2人からはアルコールが検出され、その場で酒気帯び運転などの疑いで検挙されました。

秋の全国交通安全運動は9月30日まで続き、警視庁は期間の終了後も都内各地で同様の検問を行うことにしています。

警視庁交通総務課の権田洋平管理官は「運転免許がなくても利用できる乗り物ですが飲酒運転は厳禁なので、ルールを守って安全に利用してほしい」と話していました。
