Waymo、自動運転システムが日本語に対応 スマホと自動同期
自動運転技術を開発するWaymoは、同社の自動運転システム「Waymo Driver」において、日本語、韓国語、ポーランド語、イタリア語、フランス語、ドイツ語、イギリス英語の7言語に対応した。
多言語対応により、アプリから車内ディスプレイに至るまで、ユーザーのスマートフォンの言語設定と自動的に同期する仕組みを導入。言語設定の変更や翻訳アプリを使用することなく、シームレスにサービスを利用できるようになった。これにより、従来から対応している米国英語、中国語、スペイン語に加え、より多くのユーザーに対応する。
Waymoは米国10都市で週50万回以上の完全自動運転サービスを提供しており、その実績を基に東京での展開をGoおよび日本交通と共同で推進中。現在は日本交通の乗務員が同乗しながら走行データを収集し、東京特有の道路環境への適応を進めている。
