ブルーインパルス、"廃食用油"原料の国産SAFで東京の空を飛ぶ
航空自衛隊のアクロバットチーム「ブルーインパルス」は、日揮グループのSAFFAIRE SKY ENERGY(SAF)が製造する国産SAFを使用して、9月13日に国立競技場周辺をデモフライトする。

SAF(Sustainable Aviation Fuel、持続可能な航空燃料)は、食用油など廃油から製造される環境負荷の低い航空燃料として注目されている次世代航空燃料。
使用した廃食用油は、日揮HD、コスモ石油、レボインターナショナルの3社が、東京都と連携し、2024年3月から実施した廃食用油の回収キャンペーン「東京 油で空飛ぶ 大作戦 Tokyo Fry to Fly Project」で回収したもの。2025年5月からは東京都の「家庭の油 回収キャンペーン」とも連携し、都庁舎や市区町村約80カ所に食用油回収ボックス等を設置して回収を促進した。
今回は、取り組みを通じて回収した廃食用油を原料の一部に使用。大阪・堺市の製造設備から出荷され、9月10日に羽田空港でブルーインパルスに供給された。
なお、13日のデモフライトは、東京2025世界陸上競技選手権大会に合わせて実施されるもの。飛行時間は12時25分から10分程度を予定している。ただし、天候等により飛行ルートの変更や中止の可能性もある。
