フィリピン当局は、中国と領有権を争う南シナ海で23日、当局の船が中国海警局の船から放水による妨害を受けたと発表しました。これに対して中国海警局は、「法に基づいて退去させた」と主張しています。

フィリピンの沿岸警備隊は23日午前、EEZ＝排他的経済水域内にあり、中国が実効支配を続ける南シナ海のスカボロー礁の周辺海域で、漁船への燃料補給などに向かった当局の船1隻が中国海警局の船から放水による妨害を受けたと発表しました。

フィリピン側が公開した映像には、中国海警局の船が並走しながら放水する様子が写っています。

フィリピン沿岸警備隊の報道官は会見を開き、「緊張を高め、違法行為をしているのは中国側だ。われわれは違法行為や嫌がらせを受けているだけだ」と主張しました。

これに対して中国海警局の報道官は談話を発表し、「法に基づいて必要な措置を講じて退去させた。現場の対応は正当かつ合法だ」としたうえで、フィリピン側に挑発行為などをやめるよう促すとしています。

中国側の映像では、中国の船が無線で警告したあと警告のためとして放水すると、フィリピンの船が進路を変える様子が写っています。

両国の間では、今月20日、南シナ海でフィリピン軍の兵士2人が中国海警局の乗組員に棒で殴られるなどしてけがをしたとフィリピン側が明らかにしたことをめぐって、双方の主張が食い違い、互いに抗議するなど対立が深まっています。
