【ライブ】米FRB 0.25％利下げ決定 年内あと2回の利下げ想定
アメリカのトランプ大統領がFRB＝連邦準備制度理事会に繰り返し利下げを求める中、FRBは、17日まで開いた金融政策を決める会合で、政策金利を0.25％引き下げることを決定したと発表しました。利下げは去年12月以来、6会合ぶりで、いまのトランプ政権下では初めてです。また、会合の参加者による政策金利の見通しでは、年内にあと2回の利下げが行われるとの想定が示されました。

FRBは、17日までの2日間、金融政策を決める会合を開きました。
声明では、最近の指標は経済活動の伸びが緩やかになったことを示唆しているとしたうえで、雇用の下振れリスクが高まったと指摘しています。
そして、政策金利を0.25％引き下げることを決定しました。これによって政策金利は4％から4.25％の幅となります。利下げは2024年12月以来、6会合ぶりで、いまのトランプ政権下では初めてです。
今回の決定には、12人のメンバーのうち1人が反対しました。反対したのはトランプ大統領に近く、会合前日の15日に議会上院で理事に承認されたスティーブン・ミラン氏で、通常の利下げ幅の2倍となる0.5％の引き下げを支持しました。
また、会合の参加者による政策金利の見通しでは、年内にあと2回の利下げが行われるとの想定が示されました。前回の想定より年内の利下げの見通しが1回増えた形で、雇用の減速を反映したものとみられます。
ただ、声明ではインフレ率が上昇し、いくぶん高い水準で推移していると指摘しています。
トランプ政権の関税措置などによって、インフレが再び加速するリスクと雇用が一段と減速するリスクに直面する中、今後、どのように利下げを進めていくか、難しいかじ取りを迫られることになります。
