MetaとAWSが提携 エージェント型AI強化へ「AWS Graviton」導入
Metaは24日(米国時間)、エージェント型AIの強化に向けてAmazon Web Services(AWS)と提携し、数千万個の「AWS Graviton」コアをMetaのコンピューティング基盤に導入すると発表した。
MetaはAWS Graviton採用の理由について、エージェント型AIにおいてコンピューティングはより多くの「CPU」を必要とする方向へと進化していると説明。大規模モデルのトレーニングには「GPU」が依然不可欠だが、エージェント型AIの台頭により、リアルタイム推論、コード生成、検索、多段階タスクのオーケストレーションといったCPU集約型ワークロードに対する大きな需要が生まれており、Graviton5はこうしたワークロードに特化して設計されているとする。
そのため大規模な導入を行ない、Metaは世界最大級のGraviton顧客の一つとなる。数千万個のGravitonコアから始まり、MetaのAI機能の成長に合わせて拡張していく可能性もある。
AWS Gravitonは、AWSがカスタム設計したArmアーキテクチャCPU。最新製品のAWS Graviton5を2025年12月に発表している。
