NVIDIA、AI向けCPU「Vera」正式発表　GPU中心戦略を拡張

NVIDIAは、エージェント型AIに特化した新CPU「Vera」と、次世代AI基盤「Vera Rubinプラットフォーム」を発表した。従来のGPU中心だった戦略を、CPUやネットワークを含む統合型インフラへと拡張する。 Veraは、従来の汎用CPUとは異なり、AIエージェントの連携処理や推論ワークフローを前提としたカスタムCPU。Armをベースとし、高帯域・低遅延のNVLinkに対応。AI推論時のデータ処理とメモリ制御を最適化する。同社にとってデータセンター向け本格CPUの中核製品となる。 VeraとGPU「Rubin」を中心に、ネットワークやデータ処理チップを統合したプラットフォーム「Vera Rubin」も発表。これによりAIの推論コストを最大1/10に削減可能で、大規模モデル学習に必要なGPU数も最大1/4に削減するなど、より多くのAIを効率良く動かせるようにする。 NVIDIAはこれまでGPUを軸としてAI戦略を推進してきたが、AI市場は学習中心から推論中心へシフトしており、今回の発表はこうしたニーズに対応するもの。CPU(Vera)、GPU(Rubin)に加え、新たに統合される推論アクセラレーター「Groq」、ネットワーク、ストレージラックなど主要半導体を統合し、一体設計プラットフォームとして提供する「AIファクトリー」モデルを推進する。 Vera Rubinプラットフォームはすでに量産段階に入っており、2026年後半から市場へ投入される見込み。 また、AdobeとNVIDIAは、生成AIとエージェント型AIを軸に包括提携を発表。Fireflyの高度化や3Dデジタルツイン導入を通じ、クリエイティブ制作とマーケティングの自動化・大規模化を加速する。
