アメリカ国務省は、子どもにアメリカ国籍を取得させるために一時的な滞在資格でアメリカに入国して出産する「出産ツーリズム」を防ぐための専門チームを立ち上げ、対策を強化すると発表しました。

トランプ大統領は8月6日、大統領令に署名し、アメリカで生まれた子どもには両親の国籍にかかわらず、原則として国籍を与える「出生地主義」について制限を設けるほか、子どもにアメリカ国籍を取得させるために一時的な滞在資格でアメリカに入国して出産する「出産ツーリズム」を取り締まる方針を示しました。

こうした中、国務省は12日、「出産ツーリズム防止タスクフォース」とする専門のチームを立ち上げたと発表しました。

発表では、世界各地で「出産ツーリズム」が確認されていて、仲介業者がアメリカに渡航するためのビザに関する指導や病院の手配を行うなどして、利益を得ていると指摘しています。

タスクフォースでは、「出産ツーリズム」に関与する人たちのビザの取り消しや、こうした行為から利益を得ているネットワークの解体に取り組むとしています。
