「ロシア疑惑」捜査 モラー氏死去 トランプ大統領「うれしい」
アメリカのトランプ政権1期目にいわゆる「ロシア疑惑」をめぐり、トランプ大統領による司法妨害の疑いなどについて捜査を指揮したモラー元特別検察官が死去しました。トランプ大統領はSNSに「彼が死んでうれしい」などと投稿し、批判の声が相次いでいます。
モラー氏は2001年、同時多発テロ事件が起きる直前からの12年間、FBI＝連邦捜査局の長官としてテロなどの対応にあたりました。
2017年、トランプ氏が勝利した前年の大統領選挙でロシアによる干渉があったとされる「ロシア疑惑」をめぐり、トランプ陣営の関与を捜査する特別検察官に任命されました。
2019年に捜査結果を報告書にまとめ、ロシア政府が選挙に違法に干渉したと認定しましたが、トランプ陣営の共謀は認められなかったと結論づけました。
一方、捜査に対するトランプ大統領の司法妨害の疑いについては、「判断はできない」として、完全には否定できないという見解を示しました。
トランプ大統領は当時、「でっちあげで魔女狩りだ」などと捜査を批判していて、モラー氏の死去を受けてSNSに「よかった。彼が死んでうれしい。もう無実の人を傷つけることはできない」と投稿しました。
