北海道根室市で今月23日に発生し、一時ほぼ全域に広がった断水は、26日正午、3日ぶりに全面復旧しました。水源の沼の水温が高くなって藻が繁殖し、ろ過装置に詰まったことが原因と考えられるということで、市は再発防止に向けた検証を行うことにしています。

根室市では今月23日の午後から断水が発生し、最大で市内のほぼ全域のおよそ1万3000戸に影響が拡大しました。

市によりますと、水源の沼の水温が高くなって藻が繁殖し、ろ過装置に詰まったことが原因と考えられるということで、市はろ過装置などの設備の洗浄や点検を行うなど、復旧作業を進めてきました。

断水は24日から順次解消し、市は飲料水としての水質検査を終え、26日正午に全面復旧したと発表しました。

これによって根室市では3日ぶりに市内のすべての世帯に飲料水を供給できるようになったということです。

市によりますと、しばらくは濁った水が出る場合があるものの流しっぱなしにすることで解消するということですが、茶色く濁った水が出続ける場合は飲まずに市役所に相談してほしいとしています。

市は再発防止に向けた検証を行うとともに、当面、市役所に臨時の給水所を設ける対応を取るとしています。
