10年前の熊本地震では、「車中泊」などの避難生活で「エコノミークラス症候群」によって体調を崩す人が相次ぎ、専門家が注意を呼びかけています。

災害が発生した後、避難生活が長引いた場合に危惧されるのが「エコノミークラス症候群」。対策のポイントをお伝えします。

熊本県に「DMAT」＝災害派遣医療チームを派遣する九州大学病院高度救命・災害医学分野の赤星朋比古教授によりますと、熊本県の被災地では車中泊をしている人が多いという情報が現地の医療関係者から寄せられているということです。

エコノミークラス症候群の患者が相次いだ2004年の新潟県中越地震の被災地で検診にあたってきた医師で、新潟大学の榛沢和彦特任教授は、停電している地域では涼しい環境を求めて車の中で過ごす人が増える可能性があるとしたうえで「車の中で座り続けるなどしてできた血栓が肺に詰まり、呼吸困難や最悪の場合、突然死を引き起こす『エコノミークラス症候群』につながるおそれがある」と指摘しています。

エコノミークラス症候群のリスクを減らすための対策として「2、3時間おきに車から降りて歩くことが理想的で、トイレのために数十メートル出歩く程度でも効果がある」と強調しています。

そのうえで「血栓ができるのを予防するため数時間おきにふくらはぎをマッサージすることも勧めたい。セダンタイプの車であれば大人であれば2人、子どもも含めたら3人程度が体を動かしつつ過ごせる限度で、それ以上入ると身動きが取りづらくなる。できるだけ大人数で過ごすことを避けるとか、車の座席を倒してフラットな状態にして過ごすことを心がけてほしい」と話しています。

新潟大学榛沢和彦特任教授「2016年の熊本地震では、続く地震から避難するために車中泊をする人が多かったが今回の地震では暑さ対策で車に避難する人も増える可能性がある。ただ、無防備に車中泊をするとエコノミークラス症候群のリスクが上がってしまうため、対策を取りながら過ごしてほしい」
