鹿児島 悪石島の学校 あす2学期開始 地震避難の子どもたち戻る
トカラ列島近海で相次ぐ地震で、一部の子どもたちが島外に避難したまま夏休みに入った鹿児島県の悪石島にある義務教育学校は9月1日、2学期が始まります。地震の回数が減少傾向になり児童・生徒全員がそろう予定で、校長は「一日一日を大切にしていきたい」と話しています。
十島村の悪石島や小宝島付近でことし6月から地震活動が活発になり、7月3日には悪石島で震度6弱の激しい揺れを観測しました。
相次ぐ地震で島の義務教育学校「悪石島学園」の子どもたちは一時、島外に避難し、夏休み前に授業や終業式がオンラインで行われるなど学校生活にも影響が出ました。
地震の回数は7月下旬から減少傾向になり、2学期の開始を前に児童・生徒の全員が島に戻っているということです。
始業式を9月1日に控え、當房芳朗校長は「体育や一緒に歌を歌うこと、おしゃべりをしたり給食を食べたりという当たり前の日常が戻ることが本当にうれしい。1人もけがをすることなく乗り越えられたことを、まずはみんなで喜びたい」と心境を語りました。
2学期から転入生1人が加わり、悪石島学園に通う児童・生徒は15人になります。
當房校長は子どもたちの心や体に地震の影響がないか配慮し、一人一人に寄り添い時間をかけて見守っていきたいとしたうえで「まだまだ油断できないところはありますが、前向きに安全を確保しつつ、子どもたちにとって大事な一日一日を大切に学校を動かしていきたい」と話していました。
