群馬 桐生 「チューリップまつり」会場でシカの食害相次ぐ
群馬県桐生市の公園で開かれている「チューリップまつり」の会場にあるチューリップが、野生のシカに食べられる被害が相次ぎ、公園の管理会社が柵を新たに設置するなどの対策を始めました。
桐生市の吾妻公園を管理する造園会社によりますと、ことし2月以降、園内のチューリップ畑で、芽やつぼみが相次いで食べられ、周辺にシカの足跡が残されていました。
この公園では今月5日から20日まで「チューリップまつり」が開かれていて、事前に植えられていたおよそ1万株のうち、2割ほどがシカに食べられ、山際の一部では花がほとんどなくなっています。
およそ60年続くこのまつりの会場で、チューリップがシカによる被害を受けるのは初めてだということです。
県内ではシカの生息域の拡大に伴って樹木や花などの食害が後を絶たず、公園を管理する造園会社では、周辺に柵を新たに設置するなどの対策を始めました。
造園会社の福田勝巳代表は「去年からまつりの準備を進めていたので残念です。無事に咲いている花もたくさんあるので、来場する方にはご理解いただきたい」と話していました。
