マダニ媒介の感染症 SFTS「命に関わる危険」獣医師が呼びかけ
マダニが媒介する感染症、SFTS＝「重症熱性血小板減少症候群」の患者数が過去最多となる中、4年前、ネコから感染したとみられる島根県の獣医師がNHKのインタビューに応じ「SFTSは命に関わる危険な感染症で、ペットを飼う人は正しい知識を身につけてほしい」と警戒を呼びかけました。
SFTSは発症すると発熱や倦怠感といった症状が出て、重症化すると、出血が止まらなくなったり、意識障害が起きたりする感染症でことしこれまでに報告された患者数は135人と過去最も多くなっています。
SFTSは主にマダニに刺されて感染しますが、感染したネコやイヌから唾液などの体液を介して飼い主や診療した獣医師が感染するケースも報告されています。
島根県益田市で動物病院の院長を務める松本泰和獣医師は（66）4年前の2月、SFTSの疑いがあるネコの診療にあたった1週間ほど後に発熱やリンパ節の腫れが出て、血液検査の結果SFTSと診断されました。
松本獣医師は全身の状態が悪化して入院し、10日ほど意識がはっきりしない状態が続いたということです。
2週間ほどで退院しましたがその後ものどの痛みや味覚障害が続いたということです。
松本獣医師は「SFTSは身近な動物から感染する可能性があり、発症すると命に関わる危険な人獣共通感染症だ」としたうえで、「ペットをマダニに接触させないことが重要だ。飼い主が、SFTSの感染経路や症状について正しく知ってもらいペットや自分自身に体調の異変が起きたときに素早く対応できるようにしてほしい」警戒を呼びかけました。
