AI＝人工知能の開発と安全性をめぐる議論が活発になるなか、アメリカのトランプ大統領は「AIの悪を探すため」として「AIフォース」を創設すると明らかにしました。

アメリカのAI企業のトップや開発担当者は、AIが人間が制御できる能力を上回る可能性があるとして、開発を減速させる必要があるとの考えを相次いで示しています。

こうしたなかトランプ大統領は19日、SNSに投稿し、AIをめぐる懸念について、地球温暖化などと同じく野党・民主党による作り話だと主張しました。

そして「このすばらしい産業の成長をいかなる形でも妨げたり、抑圧したりしない。むしろ成長の過程で大切にし、支援し、見守るが、悪も探す」などとしたうえで、そのために新たに「AIフォース」を創設すると明らかにしました。

投稿の中でトランプ大統領は「AIフォース」について「大成功だった宇宙軍と同じように創設する」と説明していますが、どのような組織なのかや具体的な任務については明らかにしていません。

ニュースサイトのアクシオスは「規制を最小限に抑えつつ、AIの開発を加速させるというトランプ大統領の姿勢をさらに強めるものだ」と指摘しています。
