政府 日米交渉へ自動車メーカーの米投資計画取りまとめ 提示も
アメリカの関税措置をめぐる日米交渉に向けて、政府は、日本の各自動車メーカーが今後、アメリカで予定している投資計画などを取りまとめていて、次回の交渉で提示することも含め検討しています。各メーカーがアメリカ経済に貢献し続ける姿勢を示し、交渉の後押しにしたい考えです。
アメリカの関税措置をめぐる赤澤経済再生担当大臣とベッセント財務長官らとの2回目の閣僚交渉は、アメリカ側と調整がつけば、日本時間の来月1日に行われる見通しです。
この交渉に向けて、政府は、日本の各自動車メーカーが今後、アメリカで予定している生産の拡大や投資の計画を取りまとめていて、次回の交渉で提示することも含め検討を進めています。
日本メーカーの間では、ホンダや日産が現地向けの生産の一部を日本からアメリカに移すことを決めたほか、トヨタ自動車がアメリカ南部の工場に日本円でおよそ125億円の追加投資を行うと発表するなどアメリカでの増産や投資の動きが出ています。
政府としては、日本の自動車輸出の多さを問題視するアメリカ側に対し、各メーカーが現地の経済に貢献し続ける姿勢を示し、交渉の後押しにしたい考えです。
このほか、次回の閣僚交渉に向けて、政府は、アメリカ側が「非関税障壁」と主張する項目などを含め、交渉材料の洗い出しを本格化させています。
