ミャンマー大地震 関西在住のミャンマーの人たちが独自の支援
ミャンマー中部で起きた大地震では、実権を握る軍の支配が及ばない被災地への支援が課題となっています。関西に住むミャンマーの人たちは、独自のルートで支援物資を被災地に届ける取り組みを始めています。
先月28日にミャンマー中部で発生したマグニチュード7.7の大地震について、軍はこれまでに3400人以上が死亡したとしています。
被災地には、4年前のクーデター以降、軍と戦闘を続けてきた民主派勢力側が掌握する地域が含まれていて、軍の支配が及ばない被災地へ支援物資を迅速に送ることができるのかが課題となっています。
こうした中で関西に住むミャンマーの人たちは、支援物資を独自のルートで直接、届ける取り組みを始めています。
このうち大阪市で貿易会社を営むニン・ウィンさんたちは、現地の取引先に虫よけスプレーや薬などを購入してもらい、民主派勢力側が支配する場所も多いザガイン管区に支援物資を運び込んでいます。
取引先が購入する費用は募金で集めているということで、6日、大阪市内で開かれた仏教の集会でも、集まった150人近い人たちが次々と寄付していました。
祖父の家が地震で壊れたという大阪に住むミャンマー人の女性は「ほかの家族と比べたら自分はましです。海外に住む私たちは仕事があるので、給料から少しだけでも寄付したい」と話していました。
ニン・ウィンさんは「自分が寄付したお金をできるだけ支援が届きにくいところに、という声がありました。たくさんの支援ができるよう頑張りたい」と話していました。
