Appleは、日本でAppleCare+の盗難・紛失に対する保証をiPadとApple Watchに拡大した。iPhone、iPad、Apple Watchのユーザーは、AppleCare+盗難・紛失プランを1回購入することで、盗難・紛失に対する保証を1年間に2回まで受けられる。Apple Watch向けに盗難・紛失の保証が提供されるのは今回が初。従来のAppleCare+の保証内容がすべて含まれ、バッテリー交換サービス、Appleの専任スペシャリストによる優先サポート、Apple純正部品を使用した過失や事故による損傷に対する無制限の修理が受けられる。 iPhone、iPad、Macの設定アプリで直接、対象となるデバイスのサブスクリプションオプションを購入可能。iPadの保証は780円/月から、または7,800円/年から、Apple Watchの保証は480円/月から、または4,800円/年から。従来は製品によって2年、3年などの期間限定での保証購入が可能だったが、保証期間が切れるとそれ以降、AppleCare+に加入することはできなかった。今後は期間限定の保証プランはなくなり、支払は月払いと1年間のどちらを選べ、解約しないかぎり自動更新が可能になる。
