「日本一の芋煮会」は「三代目鍋太郎」と名付けられた直径6.5メートルの大鍋で芋煮をつくる催しで、毎年山形市内の河川敷で開かれる山形の秋の風物詩です。
20日はおよそ3万食の芋煮を作るため、山形県産の里芋3.2トンと牛肉1.2トン、長ネギ3500本の具材のほか、700リットルのしょうゆや200キロの砂糖などの調味料が用意されました。
大鍋を囲んだスタッフは具材を投入しながら味がしみこむようかきまぜ、2台のショベルカーですくって別の容器にとりわけていました。
20日は時折小雨が降りましたが、多くの人が列をつくり、出来たての芋煮を堪能していました。
奈良県から訪れた50代の夫婦「一度現場で見たいなと思って来た。関西なので味は少し濃いと感じたがおいしかった」
東京から友人と訪れた20代の大学院生「思っていたよりも鍋が大きくてびっくりした。芋煮は初めて食べたけどほくほくしておいしかった」
