横綱 大の里が小中学生の相撲大会にサプライズ登場 金沢
金沢市で開かれた小中学生の相撲大会に石川県津幡町出身で先月、横綱に昇進した大の里が事前の予告なしの「サプライズ」で登場し、会場を沸かせました。
大の里が登場したのは、昭和46年から金沢市で開かれている「親善少年相撲金沢大会」です。
ことしは金沢市の石川県卯辰山相撲場に12都府県から小中学生およそ200人が集まり熱戦を繰り広げていましたが、大の里が会場に姿を見せると、大きな歓声が上がりました。
取組の合間には大の里が会場からの質問に答えるコーナーが設けられ、「なぜ相撲を始めたのですか」という質問に対して、地元で相撲が盛んなことに触れ「石川県に生まれていなかったら相撲はやっていなかったと思います」と答えていました。
大の里は今月7日、25歳の誕生日を迎えたということで、会場に集まった人たちから「ハッピーバースデー」の歌で祝福を受け、花束を手渡されていました。
会場から出る際には集まってきたファンにこたえて握手をしたりサインをしたりして気さくに交流していました。
新潟県から訪れた70代の男性は「旅行中に相撲大会に立ち寄ったら大の里が現れて驚きました。これから立派な日本人横綱として頑張ってほしい」と話していました。
大の里の地元・津幡町からこの大会に出場した中学1年の男子生徒は「大関のころからかっこよかったけど、横綱に昇進した大の里はもっとかっこよくなったと思いました。これからは全勝優勝するような横綱になってほしいです」と話していました。
