米財務長官 関税率15％への引き上げ “おそらく今週中になる”
アメリカのベッセント財務長官は4日、日本を含む幅広い国を対象に10％の関税を課す措置について、今週中にも関税率を15％に引き上げる可能性があるとの認識を示しました。
トランプ政権は、「相互関税」などをめぐる裁判で敗訴したことを受け、「通商法122条」という別の法律を根拠として、先月24日以降、日本を含む幅広い国を対象に150日限定で10％の新たな関税措置を発動しています。
この措置についてベッセント財務長官は4日、経済チャンネルのCNBCで「関税率15％への変更はいつ実施されるのか」と問われたのに対し、「おそらく今週中になるだろう」と述べました。
日本も現在、10％の関税率が適用されていますが、一部の品目ではもとの関税率に10％が上乗せされる形となって日米合意に基づく15％の関税率より高くなっています。
日本側はトランプ政権に対し、日本の扱いが日米合意より不利になることのないよう、申し入れを行っています。
また、ベッセント財務長官は、さらに別の法律を根拠に商務省が関税措置の導入も見据えて調査を進めているとした上で、今後、5か月以内に関税率は「相互関税」などを課していたときの水準に戻るとの考えを示しました。
