大谷選手は対ベネズエラ戦前の練習中、画面外の"誰か"に指を差します。続けて、自身の足元を指差して、「来なよ」と合図を送ります。 大谷選手が去ろうとすると、画面の外からは「ショー、ショー、俺に来てほしいの？」という声が聞こえます。どうやら大谷選手と親しい人物のようです。
画面が切り替わり、大谷選手が声をかけた相手は、米大リーグ（MLB）セントルイス・カージナルス所属、元「侍ジャパン」のラーズ・ヌートバー選手です！ 大谷選手は、ヌートバー選手に「オオタニ・パス」と言って、場を和ませると、2人は満面の笑みでハグ。ぎゅっと抱きしめる様子が微笑ましいですね。
