コンパクトSUVの大本命はF1由来の技術満載!? 新型ルノー キャプチャー フルハイブリッド E-TECHに迫る
ビッグマイナーチェンジを受けたルノーの新型「キャプチャー エスプリ アルピーヌ フルハイブリッド E-TECH」に、『GQ JAPAN』ライフスタイルエディターのイナガキが試乗した。

新しいルノー キャプチャーが、日本に上陸した。
新しいキャプチャーは内外装を一新。パッと見ただけでは、フルモデルチェンジくらいの変化を感じる。
パワートレインは、フルハイブリッド E-TECHに加えマイルドハイブリッドも用意する。
今回の試乗車はフルハイブリッド E-TECHの「エスプリ アルピーヌ」と呼ぶグレード。ちなみに、フルハイブリッド E-TECHはモノグレードだ。
エスプリ アルピーヌはスポーティ仕様だ。アルピーヌ「A110」を彷彿とさせるスポーティで、かつスタイリッシュな専用パーツを備える。
ただし、パワートレインや足まわりはそのままだ。
フルハイブリッド E-TECHについて記すと、F1で培ったノウハウを活かした、ルノー独自開発のフルハイブリッドシステムだ。
ルノーによれば、2014年よりF1のエンジンレギュレーションが大幅に改訂されたことがノウハウ蓄積に役立ったという。従来の2.4リッターV8自然吸気エンジンから、1.6リッターV6ターボエンジン＋運動エネルギー回生システム（MGU-K）と熱エネルギー回生システム（MGU-H）という2種類のエネルギー回生システムを組み込んだパワーユニットに改められたのだ。
45年以上もの間、F1に参戦しているルノーは、モータースポーツと市販車部門で頻繁に人事交流があるため、上記の改定に伴う新技術を、市販車にフィードバック出来たのだ。
フルハイブリッド E-TECHは、メインモーターであるE-モーターとHSG（ハイボルテージスターター＆ジェネレーター）のふたつのモーター、1.6L 4気筒自然吸気エンジン、そしてこれらを繋ぐトランスミッションである電子制御ドッグクラッチマルチモードATで構成される。
低速域のうち発進時はエンジンを使用せずに、低速域で効率の高いモーターのみで駆動。中速域ではモーターとエンジンの駆動力を巧みに組み合わせ、アクセルを踏み込んだ瞬間の素早いレスポンスと息の長い加速を両立した。高速域は、巡行時に効率の高いエンジンを積極的に使用し、追越し時にエンジンにモーターのアシストを加える。
E-SAVE機能も新採用。バッテリーの充電量を40%以上に維持し、モーターのアシストを最適化する。
F1の知見を活かしたハイブリッドシステムというのは、日本でもっともポピュラーなトヨタとは開発アプローチが異なる。
“ハイブリッド”と聴くと、クリーンなイメージが先行するものの、ルノーは“F1”を全面に出すことで、スポーティさを際立たせる。
しかも新たに設定されたエスプリ アルピーヌは、スポーティな内外装を特徴とするから、フルハイブリッド E-TECHによく似合う。
