グリーンランド自治議会選挙 独立に慎重な中道右派が第1党に
デンマークの自治領、グリーンランドで自治議会の選挙が行われ、デンマークからの独立に慎重な立場をとる中道右派の民主党が第1党に躍進しました。今後、ほかの党と連立協議を進める方針で、新政権が島の取得を目指すアメリカのトランプ大統領にどう向き合うかが焦点です。
世界最大の島グリーンランドで11日、4年に一度の自治議会選挙が行われました。
人口の9割を先住民イヌイットが占め、選挙戦ではデンマークからの独立の道筋をどう描くかが争点の1つとなりましたが、開票の結果、経済成長を優先し、独立に慎重な立場をとる中道右派の民主党が、前回の3倍以上の得票率となる29.9％で第1党に躍進しました。
次いで、早期の独立を目指す中道右派の「ナレラク」が24.5％で第2党となり、エーエデ首相が率いる与党・イヌイット友愛党と、連立政権を組んできた進歩党は大幅に支持を減らしました。
グリーンランドをめぐっては、アメリカのトランプ大統領が安全保障上の理由などから島の取得を目指しています。
第1党になった民主党のニールセン党首はトランプ氏への対応について聞かれ「グリーンランドの人々にとって最も安全な道を提供したい」と述べるにとどめました。
ニールセン党首は今後、ほかの党と連立協議を進める方針ですが、第2党の「ナレラク」はアメリカとの安全保障や経済面での協力に前向きな姿勢を示していて、連立の枠組みがトランプ政権との向き合い方を左右しそうです。
