オリエント、ソーラー発電の「バンビーノ」
エプソン販売は、腕時計ブランド「オリエント」の新作として、ソーラー発電に対応する「オリエントバンビーノ 38 ソーラーパワード」を3月13日に発売する。クオーツ式の腕時計で、価格は37,400円、数量限定モデルは44,000円。オリエント公式オンラインストアで販売される。

クラシックなデザインで機械式の「バンビーノ」シリーズに初めて加わる、クオーツ式ムーブメントを搭載するモデル。伝統的な腕時計のデザインを採用するシリーズの特徴はそのままに、ソーラー発電に対応。精度は平均月差±20秒で、フル充電から約6カ月間の駆動が可能になっている。
コンパクトなケース径38mmのサイズで、ダイヤルのカラーはアイボリー、ブラック、ペールグリーンをラインナップ。バンビーノシリーズとして、レトロなイメージのボックス型風防やダイヤル形状、細身のラグなどのデザインを採用する。
バンドはブラウンもしくはアイボリーが組み合わされ、オリエント初という植物由来の「アップル合成皮革」を採用する。これは、廃棄されるりんごの芯や搾りかすを利用したアップサイクルの先端素材になっている。バンビーノシリーズ初のイージーエクスチェンジストラップも採用しており、バネ棒のレバーを動かして、簡単にバンドを着脱できる。
ケースはステンレススチール製。防水性能は3気圧防水。風防はボックス型無機ガラス。本体サイズは43.5×38.4×10.5mm(縦×横×厚さ)。
数量限定300本でオリエント75周年記念モデルも用意される。ビンテージルックが特徴で、1950年代に使用されていた筆記体の旧オリエントロゴや、青色の時分針、ホワイト文字板を採用。レトロ感のあるベージュのヌバック皮革のバンドが組み合わされ、ブラウンのカーフバンドも付属する。裏蓋には、筆記体による「Orient Since 1950 75th Anniversary」の文字とシリアル番号が刻印される。
