9月4日、ロータスの日本法人は、新しい「エミーラ」を発表した。
新しいロータス エミーラは、冷却システムであるクーラントラインの配管が見直された。トランスミッションオイルクーラーおよびメインラジエーターへの冷却水の流れが改善されたことで、冷却性能が高まると同時に、車両重量の軽量化にも貢献する。
エアコン制御システムは高温時でも室温を安定させるよう再調整。エンジンのサーモスタットの開弁温度は従来の65度から75度に引き上げられ、過酷な条件下でも暖房性能と走行性能が向上した。
デュアルクラッチトランスミッション(DCT)もセッティングが見直された。シフトスピードの向上、変速の滑らかさ、ドライバーとの一体感がさらに高まったという。
安全面では、先進運転支援システム(ADAS)を標準装備。自動緊急ブレーキ(AEB)や車線逸脱警報、ブラインドスポット警告、交通標識認識 (TSR)、ドライバー疲労検知を含む。
さらに、ドライバーをより強力にサポートする「拡張コ・ドライバーパック(Extended Co-Driver Pack)」をオプションで用意。これには、アダプティブクルーズコントロール（AT車のみ）、後方交差車両警告、ドア開放警告、ハイビームアシスト機能を含む。
新たに発表されたエミーラ V6 SEは、400psの最高出力を発揮するスーパーチャージャー付き3.5リッターV6エンジンを搭載。標準でLSD(リミテッド・スリップ・ディファレンシャル)付きの6速マニュアルトランスミッション、もしくはオプションでオートマチックトランスミッションを選べる。0〜100km/hの加速タイムは、わずか4.3秒だ。
加えてダンパーの最適なキャリブレーションとアライメントの微調整により、ハンドリング性能の向上と乗り心地の快適性を両立。走行モードは、日常の走行に適した「Tour」モード、「Sports」モードを用意。後者はやや硬めのサスペンション設定となり、ダイナミック性能とフィーリングが強化される。
エクステリアには専用のV6 SE バッジ、20インチ鍛造アルミホイール、レッドブレーキキャリパーなどを装備。インテリアは各所にアルカンターラを使う。
