アップル 米国内向けiPhone生産を中国からインドへ 英紙など
アメリカのIT大手、アップルはアメリカ国内で販売するほとんどの「iPhone」をインドで組み立てる計画だと複数の欧米メディアが報じました。
関税をめぐり米中間で応酬が続くなか、中国からインドへ生産を移管し、リスクを軽減するねらいがあるとみられます。
これはイギリスの経済紙、フィナンシャル・タイムズなどが報じたもので、アップルは、アメリカ向けの「iPhone」のすべて、もしくは大半について来年末までにインドで組み立てる計画で、中国からインドへ生産を移管するということです。
アメリカ国内で販売する「iPhone」の台数は年間で6000万台以上ですが、およそ80％が中国で生産されているとする調査もあり、現在は中国での生産に大きく依存しています。
トランプ政権は、中国に対してあわせて145％の追加関税を課していますが、スマートフォンなどの電子機器については国家安全保障に悪影響を及ぼすかどうか調べた上で、今後別の関税を課す方針を示しています。
関税をめぐる米中間での応酬が続くなか、アップルとしてはインドでの生産を強化し中国への依存を減らすことで、リスクを軽減するねらいがあるとみられます。
フィナンシャル・タイムズは「こうした動きはアップルがサプライチェーンを多様化する戦略に基づいているが、投資家が予想するよりもはるかに速く進んでいる」と伝えています。
