トランプ大統領“オレゴンへの派兵指示する”と表明 地元反発
アメリカのトランプ大統領は27日、西部オレゴン州ポートランドへの派兵を国防長官に指示すると明らかにしました。移民税関捜査局の施設をテロリストから守るためとしていますが、地元の市長は「必要な部隊はゼロだ」と反発しています。
トランプ大統領は27日、自身のSNSに「オレゴン州ポートランドへの派兵をヘグセス国防長官に指示する」と投稿しました。
派兵の理由について「移民税関捜査局の施設をアンティファや国内のテロリストによる攻撃から守るため」と主張しています。
トランプ大統領は22日、反ファシズムを掲げる人たちや運動を指す「アンティファ」を国内テロ組織に指定するための大統領令に署名していて、国土安全保障省は、ポートランドにある移民税関捜査局の施設がアンティファに繰り返し襲撃されたとしています。
これに対し、ポートランド市の野党・民主党選出、ウィルソン市長は「ポートランドでも他のアメリカの都市でも、必要な部隊はゼロだ。大統領が意図的に起こさない限り、無法や暴力に遭遇することはないだろう」と批判する声明を出しました。
トランプ大統領はこれまで、西部カリフォルニア州のロサンゼルスや首都ワシントンへ州兵を派遣し、南部テネシー州のメンフィスにも州兵の派遣を表明していますが、いずれも市長が民主党選出であることから、政治的な意味合いがあるとの見方も出ています。
