鹿児島 悪石島 地震が続く中 伝統の盆踊り行われる
トカラ列島近海で地震が続く中、鹿児島県十島村の悪石島では、旧暦で七夕にあたる29日からお盆の期間に入り、夜には伝統の「盆踊り」が行われました。
悪石島では、旧暦で7月7日の七夕にあたる29日からお盆の期間に入り、ユネスコの無形文化遺産にも登録されている仮面神「ボゼ」が厄払いをする「ボゼ祭り」が行われる来月7日まで、先祖の霊を供養する行事が続きます。
29日夜は島の中心部にある義務教育学校、悪石島学園の前の広場に住民が集まり、先祖の霊を迎え入れて弔う伝統の「盆踊り」が行われました。
トカラ列島近海ではことし6月から地震活動が活発になり、先月3日には悪石島で震度6弱の激しい揺れを観測しました。
その後、地震の回数は減少傾向で、規模も小さくなっていますが、島で暮らす人たちは不安な日々を過ごす中で29日を迎えました。
参加した人たちは島に代々受け継がれている歌を口ずさみながら、打ち鳴らされる鐘の音にあわせて輪になって踊っていました。
50代の男性は「無事にこの日を迎えてうれしいです。穏やかな表情でみんなで踊れてありがたい」と話していました。
