ひざ立ち姿勢の「ねまり相撲」の大会 子どもたちが熱戦 青森
土俵の上でひざ立ちの姿勢で相撲を取る「ねまり相撲」の大会が青森県弘前市で開かれ、夏休み中の子どもたちが熱戦を繰り広げました。
「ねまり相撲」は、江戸時代の武士が冬場の鍛錬として行った津軽地方独自の相撲で、「座る」という意味の津軽弁「ねまる」からつけられました。
17日、弘前市東目屋地区では、神社の夏祭りで「ねまり相撲」の大会が開かれ、市内外から集まった園児から小学6年生までの子どもたち20人が参加しました。
この日は学年別のトーナメントが行われ、子どもたちはマットで作られた土俵の上で真剣勝負を繰り広げ、なかには負けた悔しさに涙を流す子どもの姿も見られました。
大会の最後には、無差別の勝ち抜き戦も行われ、子どもたちは強い相手に全力で立ち向かい相撲を楽しんでいました。
参加した6年生の男の子は、「ねまり相撲はバランスを取るのが難しいのですが、そこがかえって魅力です。きょうは力いっぱい取り組んで勝てたのでうれしかったです」と話していました。
