15日朝、西東京市で青信号の横断歩道を渡っていた小学3年の男の子がワゴン車にはねられ、その後、死亡しました。

警視庁によりますと15日午前9時すぎ、西東京市泉町の交差点で「男の子を車ではねた」と110番通報がありました。

この事故で横断歩道を渡っていた近くに住む小学3年生、高嶋利久土（8）さんが右折してきた貨物用のワゴン車にはねられ、全身を強く打って病院に搬送されましたがおよそ4時間後に死亡しました。

警視庁は車を運転していた59歳の会社員から話を聴くなどして詳しい状況を調べています。

現場は西武池袋線の保谷駅から南西におよそ800メートル離れた都道が交わる交差点です。
