“岩国基地で騒音伴う訓練 住民に負担” 岩国市長ら中止要請
アメリカ軍が山口県にある岩国基地で、17日から大きな騒音を伴う訓練を行うとしていることを受け、岩国市などは周辺の住民に一層の負担を強いることになるとして中谷防衛大臣に対し、アメリカ側に訓練を実施しないよう強く求めてほしいと要請しました。
アメリカ軍は、空母艦載機による「FCLP」と呼ばれる大きな騒音を伴う訓練を17日から今月26日にかけて山口県にある岩国基地で行うことにしています。
これを受け、岩国市の福田良彦市長らが16日、防衛省を訪れて中谷防衛大臣と面会し、訓練が実施されれば周辺の住民に一層の負担を強いることになるとして、アメリカ側に訓練を実施しないよう強く求めてほしいと要請しました。
中谷大臣は「訓練は重要な意義があり、実施はやむをえないと認識しているが、アメリカ側には周辺住民への騒音の影響が最小限になるよう申し入れをしてきた。改めて申し入れるとともに引き続き、地元と関係を密にしながら真摯（しんし）に対応していく」と述べました。
このあと岩国市の福田市長は記者団に対し「訓練がいかに大切であるかは理解をしながらも、岩国基地で実施することは断じて容認できないと改めて強調した。訓練が実施されるかどうか、あす以降、動向を注視し、しっかり対応していく」と述べました。
