OpenAIは10日、ChatGPTで数学や科学を学べるインタラクティブなビジュアル解説機能を提供開始した。主に高校生や大学生を対象としており、無料を含むChatGPTの全プランのログインユーザーが利用できる。 ChatGPTは、1億4,000万人の学習に使われているが、多くの学習者にとって、数学や科学の概念は抽象的で理解しにくいと感じられている。そのため、インタラクティブなビジュアルを用いて、数学や科学の概念をわかりやすく見せる機能を追加する。 まずは、70以上の主要な数学・科学概念から開始し、ChatGPTは数式・変数・関係性がリアルタイムでどのように振る舞うかを示し、学習をサポートする。 ChatGPTへの質問例は「ピタゴラスの定理の理解を助けて」など。インタラクティブなWebアプリの反応で、"概念”の理解を支援してくれる。編集部で確認したところ、11日時点では英語での問いかけに対してのみ、ビジュアル解説が表示されるようだ。 【質問例】・ピタゴラスの定理を理解する手助けをして(Help me understand the Pythagorean Theorem) ・PV=nRTがどのように機能するかを説明して(Explain how PV=nRT works) ・円の面積をどのように求められますか？(How can I find the area of a circle?) 今後は、インタラクティブ学習の対象科目を拡大し、ChatGPTを活用した学習ツールを増やしていく。2025年から導入している学習モードやクイズ機能などの知見を活かしながら、将来の製品体験を設計し、教育エコシステム全体と連携して、AIを活かした学習につなげていく。
