研修旅行中の京都の高校生が乗った船が、アメリカ軍普天間基地の移設工事が進む沖縄県名護市辺野古の沖合で転覆し、高校生と船長が死亡した事故で、文部科学省は高校の教育内容が政治的中立性を定めた教育基本法に違反すると判断し、学校側に改善を求める指導通知を行いました。政治的中立性を理由に違反を認定したのは初めてだということです。

ことし3月、アメリカ軍普天間基地の移設工事が行われている名護市辺野古の沖合で、研修旅行の一環として見学に訪れていた京都府にある同志社国際高校の生徒たちを乗せた2隻の船が転覆し、17歳の女子生徒と71歳の男性船長が死亡し、生徒など14人がけがをしました。

文部科学省は研修旅行をめぐる学校側の対応について調査を進めた結果、学校法人や高校の安全管理や教育内容について、「極めて不適切だ」と判断したということです。

そのうえで高校の教育内容について、政治的中立性を定めた教育基本法に違反すると判断し、学校側に改善を求める指導通知を行いました。

文部科学省によりますと、政治的中立性を理由に教育基本法に違反すると認定したのは初めてだということです。
