複合商業施設「原宿クエスト」9月11日開業 駅近・表参道沿い
NTT都市開発は「原宿クエスト建替え計画」について、8月29日に竣工し、9月11日に⼀部店舗が開業すると発表した。他店舗は11月以降順次開業を予定している。

1988年に開業した旧「原宿クエスト」を建て替え、新たな複合商業施設として新「原宿クエスト」を開発した。所在地は渋谷区神宮前1丁目13-14で、原宿駅至近の表参道に面した場所。
規模は地上6階・地下2階、塔屋1階で、地下1階から6階に物販店舗、飲食店舗、サービス店舗を展開する。敷地面積は1,956.49m2、延床面積は7,513.18m2。9月にオープンするのは1～3階の「NIKE HARAJUKU」。
同地にはかつて、NTTグループの前身である日本電信電話公社の総裁公邸が所在していた。その後、1988年に旧・原宿クエストが「QUEST FOR NEW STANDARD」というコンセプトのもと、ベーシックで流行に左右されない価値を追求する場として開業。NTT都市開発が初めて手がけた多目的ホール併設の複合商業施設だった。
新・原宿クエストは、名称、歴史と精神を受け継ぎながら、「Re:HARAJUKU CULTURE」をコンセプトに、「個性あふれる世界の原宿カルチャーを追求する新たな複合商業施設」として再始動する。
地下1階ではフードホール「The Tunnel」とポップアップスペース「The Hall」を展開。The Tunnelは食と音楽を融合させた複合的なプラットフォームレストランで、防音システムを備えた設備により音楽イベントの開催も可能。多様なコンテンツを発信するとしている。空間デザインは高速道路のトンネルをモチーフにしている。
The Hallは、約300m2、天高4mの大型のポップアップスペースで、ショップ・展示会、ブランド発表会、ギャラリー・アートショーなどに対応できる。
1階ではフラワーショップ、ファッション、コーヒースタンド、4階ではシェアオフィス、コワーキング、5階と6階では台湾料理店、天ぷら専門店、フレンチレストランを展開する。
NTT都市開発は2020年にJR原宿駅前に「ウィズ原宿」を開業している。両施設は接続はしないものの、連携によるエリア全体の価値向上への貢献を目指す。
建築デザインはOMAの重松象平氏によるもので、「デュアリティ(二面性)」を建築コンセプトに、原宿・表参道に併存する異なる街の個性をつなぐ空間として計画されたという。地上6階・地下2階の高層棟と地上1階の低層棟で構成され、両棟の間に街の回遊性を高めるパサージュ(敷地内通路)を設けた。
表参道側は垂直性と透明性を意識した外観を採用。ガラス面に街路樹が映し出される設計となっている。表参道から続くパサージュの先には、小さな店舗や広場、アートスケープを配置した。
パサージュ沿いや地下階には地層をイメージした版築壁を設け、透明感のあるガラス面と対比的な印象とした。壁面には明治神宮の地層や植生を反映した素材を用いている。
ロゴは、旧・原宿クエストのロゴを継承・進化させ、デジタルとフィジカルを自由に行き来する現代のライフスタイルをイメージしたデザインとしている。「Q」を構成する斜めに傾いた四角形は、建築の個性と世界へ開かれた窓を表現している。
ロゴデザインを手掛けたのは、グラフィックアーティスト/アートディレクターのYOSHIROTTEN(ヨシロットン)氏。都市と自然、デジタルとフィジカルが交差する独自の世界観を、オリジナルフォントと図形の構成で表現した。
