西武渋谷店、9月末で営業終了　約60年の歴史に幕

そごう・西武は25日、「西武渋谷店」の営業を2026年9月30日に終了すると発表した。1968年の開店以来58年、渋谷のランドマークのひとつとなっていた西武渋谷店が、まもなく営業終了となる。 対象となるのはA館とB館およびパーキング館で、営業面積は31,888m2。ロフト館とモヴィーダ館は、単館として営業を継続する。 終了の理由は、土地建物権利者から、賃貸借契約の終了と明渡しを求められたため。 同社では、20年近くにわたって土地建物権利者との間で、西武渋谷店全体の再開発について協議を続けていたという。しかし、土地建物権利者から、A館、B館、パーキング館の再開発に着手することを正式に決定したという2024年7月3日付の通知を受領。その後の明渡しを求められ、交渉を継続してきたが、今回の西武渋谷店営業終了に至ったという。 なお、西武渋谷店に勤務する社員については雇用を継続し、社内で配置転換を行なう。
