トランプ大統領 自動車の追加関税 さらに引き上げの可能性言及
アメリカのトランプ大統領は輸入される自動車に課している25％の追加関税措置について12日、「そう遠くない将来、引き上げるかもしれない」と発言しました。
トランプ政権は2025年4月、日本を含むすべての国や地域から輸入される自動車に25％の追加関税を課す措置を発動しました。
この措置についてトランプ大統領は12日、ホワイトハウスで「すべての外国製の自動車に関税を課した結果、アメリカでの自動車産業への投資が急拡大している。そう遠くない将来、関税率を引き上げるかもしれない」と述べ追加の関税率を25％からさらに引き上げる可能性に言及しました。
またトランプ大統領は「関税率が高くなれば高くなるほどアメリカ国内で工場が建設される可能性が高まる」とも発言し、自動車関税の効果を改めて強調しました。
自動車関税は、トランプ政権の関税措置をめぐる日米交渉でも大きな焦点となっています。
日本政府は来週カナダで開かれるG7サミット＝主要7か国首脳会議にあわせた日米首脳会談で一定の合意を得ることを視野に交渉を進めていて、これを前に赤澤経済再生担当大臣が13日ワシントンに向けて出発します。
赤澤大臣は現地で閣僚交渉を行いたいとしていて、日本に大きな打撃を与えている自動車関税などをめぐってどのような交渉が行われるか注目されます。
