LINEヤフーは、ショート動画サービス「LINE VOOM」を9月30日をもってサービス終了する。2021年11月のスタートから、約4年10カ月でのサービス終了となる。
LINE VOOMは、LINE上で使えるショート動画サービスとして、2021年11月に開始。個人の動画だけでなく、LIVE配信など、順次機能を追加してきた。一方、TikTokやInstagram、YouTubeショートなどの大きな競合サービスがあるなかで、存在感を示せていたとは言い難い状況は続いていた。
25年9月には、LINEアプリの「VOOM」タブを「ショッピング」に切り替える方針が発表されており、段階的に適用されてきた。ショッピングタブは26年9月の正式リリースが予定されており、あわせてLINE VOOMが終息することとなる。
サービス終了は、9月30日11時ごろを予定。あわせて、投稿の新規作成や投稿の閲覧に加え、投稿データの閲覧・復元も行なえなくなる。投稿済みのデータをバックアップしたい場合は、サービス終了前にLINE VOOMにアクセスし、画面の案内にしたがってバックアップ申請するよう呼びかけている。
