現職と新人の2人の争いとなった長野県知事選挙は、現職の阿部守一氏（65）の5回目の当選が確実になりました。

NHKの事前の情勢取材や9日に投票を済ませた有権者を対象に行った出口調査では、無所属で現職の阿部守一氏が共産党が推薦した元参議院議員で新人の武田良介氏を大きく引き離してきわめて優勢です。

また、8日までに期日前投票をした人への調査でも阿部氏が大きく上回っていて、阿部氏の5回目の当選が確実になりました。

阿部氏は東京都出身の65歳。旧自治省の出身で、2001年から3年間、当時の長野県の田中康夫知事のもとで副知事などを務めました。

2010年の知事選挙で初当選して現在4期目で、去年からは全国知事会の会長も務めています。

選挙戦では、人口減少が進む中、未来への投資に力を入れるとしてAIを活用した中小企業の生産性向上の支援や子どもの個性に応じた学習環境の整備などを訴えました。

阿部氏は特定の政党からの推薦や支持は受けなかったものの、多くの党の支持層や無党派層から幅広く支持を集めました。
