13日から宮城県気仙沼市を訪れている秋篠宮さまと長男の悠仁さまは14日朝、生鮮かつおの水揚げが盛んな市内の魚市場を視察されました。

船から水揚げされたばかりのかつおが、ベルトコンベヤーで運ばれてきたあとサイズごとに手際よく選別されていく様子を熱心にご覧になっていました。

説明役を務めた気仙沼漁業協同組合の組合長などによりますと、秋篠宮さまは「どういった方法で取っているのですか」と尋ねられ、悠仁さまは「船の中でどのように保管して持ってきているのですか」などと質問されたということです。

気仙沼漁業協同組合によりますと、主力の生鮮かつおの水揚げは、去年記録的な不漁に見舞われたもののことしは回復し、好調な水揚げが続いているということです。
