大阪・関西万博 「大屋根リング」完成 1周約2キロのシンボル
ことし4月に開幕する大阪・関西万博の会場のシンボル、1周およそ2キロにわたる「大屋根リング」が完成し、報道陣に公開されました。

「大屋根リング」は、1周およそ2キロ、高さは最大20メートルに上る世界最大級の木造建築物で、大阪・関西万博の会場コンセプト「多様でありながら、ひとつ」を表すシンボルとして、大阪 此花区の人工島の夢洲に建設されました。
去年8月に1周がつながり、植え込みやトイレなどの整備も進められ、28日までに建築基準法で定められた手続きを終えて、完成したということです。
報道陣に公開されたリングの南側には、海水が引き込まれた区域があり、リングの一部は、海の上に建てられているようにも見えます。
また、屋上部分の遊歩道沿いには、草花を植えるスペースが設けられたほか、夕暮れ時にはリングのライトアップが行われ、時間帯や季節などによって、色や演出を変えるということです。
万博の実施主体、博覧会協会の石毛博行 事務総長は、28日の会見で「世界がつながっていることを示す万博の象徴が完成し、私たちとしては、画期的なタイミングを迎えることができた」と述べました。
