JR東日本は、6月30日から7月1日に発生した「モバイルSuica」のサービス不具合についての原因を発表した。他社のシステムの障害に起因したアクセス増などの影響で、複数回の障害が発生し、対策に長時間を要したとしている。 6月30日から7月1日にかけて、モバイルSuicaで、アプリからのチャージや定期券の購入、払い戻し、グリーン券の発行など、一部サービスが利用できない問題が発生したもの。 6月30日の障害は、モバイルSuicaの決済に関わる他社のシステムにおいて障害が発生したことが原因。同日の4時41分から7時24分までの間と、8時10分から8時58分までの間に不安定な状態となった。 7月1日の障害は、7時56分から17時34分までの長時間にわたり発生。前日の障害によりご利用できなかった人のアクセスや、月初の定期券継続購入によるアクセス等が重なり、モバイルSuicaへのアクセス数が通常時より増大。システム全体が高負荷な状態となったという。 加えて、アクセス増大により外部連携サーバーが不安定になったため、復旧まで多くの時間を要した。 JR東日本では、改善策として外部連携サーバーを含めたモバイルSuicaシステム全体で処理性能の改善と向上を順次進める。また、障害の影響を受けた人向けの払い戻しなども行なう。
