北海道 稚内 犬ぞりレースの全国大会 ことし2年ぶりに開催
犬が引くそりに乗って真っ白な雪の上を駆け抜ける犬ぞりレースの全国大会が22日北海道稚内市で開かれました。
大会には北海道のほか東京や愛知などから60チームが参加し、犬の頭数や年齢、それに、走る距離ごとに8つの種目に分かれてレースが行われました。
去年は雪不足で中止されたためことしは2年ぶりの開催です。
このうち2頭の犬がそりをひくレースは1キロのコースで速さを競うもので、参加したチームは、スタートの合図にあわせて勢いよく飛び出していきました。
乗り手の掛け声にあわせて犬たちが力強く真っ白な雪の上を駆け抜けると、訪れた人たちは撮影するなどして迫力のあるレースを楽しんでいました。
最年長の参加者で札幌市の中道博國さん（81）は「30回ほどこの大会には出場しています。ことしは風が強かったですが、犬が頑張ってくれました。来年も出場に向けて頑張りたいです」と話していました。
レースを観戦した男性は「一生懸命に走る犬がかわいかったです」と話していました。
この大会は23日まで行われます。
